Sure there are phones which play music, take photos and browse the net, but apple's lifestyle approach to the whole thing is one which should be lauded. The 30 sec advents released by apple for the orginial iPhone were a huge hit and the time they needed to project almost every feature of the iPhone was just 30 sec.
In 30 seconds you learn you can hold it in your hand, control it by touching the screen, watch a movie on it, pivot the screen, type on it, use google maps to find your location, use it to make useful decisions for you, and ofcourse you can make calls. All of this is shown in the context of a scenario, not in the context of an explanation. The interface and the explanation are beautifully blended.
Which other phones are advertised on the quality of the experience and interface? When’s the last time you’ve seen any technology product advertised like this?
This is advertising at its very best, here's a compilation of all the 4 iPhone ads in one video.
